I Just Learned Harmonic Minor, Now What?

You can make musical phrases out of the scale. Over a 7b9 chord, start your lines with chord tones b7, b9, and 5th and descend the scale. By doing this, you are activating tones of the scale that outline or highlight the chord on the strong downbeats.
